Our VST plug-ins use a security system that allows them to be "activated" to run on a particular computer hardware setup. In order to activate, you need to first purchase the software. We understand that from time to time you will change the hardware in your computer, so when you purchase a plug-in we give you 3 activations.

Our Serial Numbers are cross platform, so if you change between pc and mac you don't need to buy the software again (although you have to download the right version for your new setup).

First download the plug-in, and install in on your system so that it can run as a demo. To do this, look up the documentation for your VST host (e.g.Cubase) to see how. Most VST hosts have a "VST plug-ins" folder, and all that is necessary is that you:-

1. Unzip the downloaded file.
2. Put the "chopitch.dll" ("chopitch.vst" for mac)in the "VST plug-ins" folder of the host.
3. Start up the host, and it automatically finds the new plug-in.

Once you've done that you can try the plug-in as a demo. Since we don't normally accept returns, we recommend that you test the plug in your environment before you buy it. As a demo the plug-in will run normally for 3 minutes, after that there will be a break in the sound every few seconds.

Open the plug-in from your VST host. When you decide you want to buy, just hit the large button marked "BUY", and follow instructions. It's probably a good idea to stop playback of any sounds when you do this. The activation softare will take you online to make the purchase, and on completion the plug-in will be activated. Make sure you fill in your credit card number without spaces between the digits, and the security code has to be actually typed, not cut and pasted. Make sure you wait for each part of the purchase process to happen, in particular don't close the plug-in window when you see the "Please Wait" message.

Make sure you keep your Serial Number and Order Code. These will be necessary if you need to activate again, (if you replace your computer, for instance).

Open the plug-in from your VST host. It's probably a good idea to stop playback of any sounds at this point. Click the "Activate" button, then type in (or you can paste if on pc) your Serial Number and hit the return key.

Wait for the "Thankyou" message, then you're activated!

1. Purchase the serial number for the plug-in you want at the Mathons Web Store. Make sure you fill in your credit card number without spaces between the digits, and the security code has to be actually typed, not cut and pasted.
2. Open the plug-in in your VST host, and hit the "ACTIVATE" button.
3. Type in (or paste) your Serial Number, and hit the Return key.
4. Have patience, the process may take some time while it checks you don't have internet access.
5. The "Activate" routine will try to go online, if your computer ever had internet access your usual connection dialog may appear. If so cancel it.
6. If you see this dialog, you need to hit the "Connect" button, even though you are not going online.
   
7. A dialog will advise you that you can't get on-line, hit "Continue".
8. You will be presented with a 3 choice menu, select the second choice, "Activate using a different computer that has web access", then hit "Next".
9. You'll be given an Installation ID, and instructions on how to get your activation Key. Follow the instructions to get your Activation Key from http://activate.esellerate.net.
10. If the computer you used to get the Activation Key was a long way away, you probably need to do steps 2 to 7 again. Then chose the 3rd option "I already have an Activation Key and would like to activate now."
11. Type in (or paste) the Activation Key, and hit "Activate".
12. If that didn't work, most likely reason is that the purchase information has not yet been fully processed. To back to step 10 in 30 minutes or so.

We apologise that this activation process seems somewhat involved, we hope you understand that we need to have security measures such as this to prevent illegal copying of the software. Please contact us if you have difficulty.

Make sure you keep your Serial Number and Order Code. These will be necessary if you need to activate again, (if you replace your computer, for instance).

Just follow the purchase instructions again, except that you already bought the Serial Number.

If you need to activate again, but didn't change your hardware (for instance, if the activation details got erased from your hard drive for some reason), then your Activation Key will still be useable. In this case just miss out instructions 8 and 9.
